STCCC Pool Information





Whether you swim for fun, exercise or the thrill of competition, you’ll
have a wonderful time in St. Charles Country Club’s two pools. Our
friendly pool staff is available to attend to your every need—from lessons
to cabana service—and they encourage you to jump in and have some fun.

 

SCCC pool is open 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. (Tues-Fri.), 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.  (Sat. & Sun.), from Memorial Day through
Labor Day. Abbreviated hours are in effect on
weekdays when school is in session.

 

~ Swimming Pool Area – Rules & Regulations ~


 

Health & Safety Regulations

Federal, State and Local laws will be observed in the operation of our swimming pool.  During swimming hours, the Pool Manager will have responsibility for enforcing the health and safety regulations.  At all times, when the pool is open, swimming will be under constant surveillance and supervision.  The Pool Manager or lifeguards have the authority to enforce all pool regulations and swimming rules, and to properly deal with violators as prescribed by the Board of Directors.  Infringement of health and safety regulation is cause for suspension of pool privileges.

The Sports & Pastimes committee has the right to suspend the pool privileges of any adult or child who does not comply with the rules and regulations or with the instruction of the Manager on Duty.

Suggestions regarding pool operation, changes, etc. shall be made in writing to the Sports & Pastimes Committee.

 

Children

Children under the age of 8 are not permitted at the pool without parent or Guardian* (Nanny).  Children under the age of 12 are not permitted out of the pool area, unless accompanied by a parent.

The pool staff is not a baby sitting service.  At the sole discretion of the Pool Manager, General Manger and Sports & Pastimes committee, young children left unattended habitually, who do not comply with the rules, or are deemed unsafe, will lose pool privileges.

 

Sign In

All members, their children and their guests must register each time they enter the pool area.

 

Guest

Members may bring guest on a per day basis.  The guest fee is $10.00 per day.  The member must be present.  Children under the age of 8 may have guest but only when parent or guardian* is present.

 

Guardian / Nanny / Child Care Provider

1.   Each family may have 1 child care provider per family.  This person must be 16 years or older.  The child care provider shall care for the children of only one family at a time.  The child care provider is completely responsible for the conduct of the children he / she is watching.  The non-member child care provider cannot bring guests.  It is the responsibility of the member to introduce the Non-Member child care provider to the Club Management and to provide a picture of the Non-Member child care provider.

2.   Non-member child care providers are permitted to use the club facilities only in conjunction with their child care duties and the member shall be responsible for their charges while they are using the Club facilities.  Non-member child care providers and baby-sitters should be in proper pool attire in order to assist the children who are in their care while in the pool area.

3.   The privileges of a non-member child care provider may be revoked at any time for non-compliance with Club rules and regulations.

 
4.   The underage children may bring 1 guest per child while under child care provider supervision.  There is no fee for the non-member child care provider.

 

Toddler / Diapers

Children who are not completely toilet trained can swim in the wadding pool only.  Swim diapers are required for those not yet toilet trained.  An adult or guardian* must accompany toddlers at the wading pool.  Disposable diapers are not allowed.  Swim diapers will be available at the Lifeguard Station.

 

Dress Code

The general dress code for the Club is in force when coming and going to the pool.  Cut-offs, short shorts and the like are not permitted.

 

Regulations of conduct

The lifeguard may regulate the conduct of any person in the pool facility and shall have the authority to request any person to leave the pool facility due to infraction of any pool rules and regulations.  In the event that any person is required or requested to leave, the lifeguard will file a report with the Clubhouse Manger, giving the details and circumstances of the occurrence.

 

Suspension

Infraction of any of the pool rules is grounds for immediate expulsion from the pool area for the remainder of the day.

In the event any person is requested to leave due to violation of existing rules, suspension will be as follows:

                       

First Violation                           Remainder of the day
Second Violation                      Three Days

Third Violation                          Until reviewed by the Board of Directors at the next regularly scheduled meeting.

 

Swim Rules:
1.

Use of the pool facilities at anytime other than the hours listed is forbidden unless specific arrangements have been made and authorized by the Club Management.  

2.

All swimmers, adult and children, must check in at the pool office before entering the pool or locker rooms.  Entering or re-entering the pool area directly from the grounds is not permitted. 

3. 

A guest is defined as anyone other than a member, spouse, and children 21 years and younger  

4.

No person will be permitted in the pool unless a lifeguard is on duty

5.

There must be one lifeguard on duty for every 15 swimmers at the pool, per USSC guidelines. 

6. 

No visiting with the lifeguards.

7.

A soapy shower must be taken before entering the pool.

8.

Sun bathing is allowed on the pool deck only.

9.

Proper covering must be worn by all persons in swimsuits when not in the pool area.  This does not mean a towel.  Swimmers are not permitted to take club towels outside the pool area. 

10.

The age limit for children using the baby pool is six (6) years of age or younger. All children three (3) and under using the baby pool facility must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.

11.

All children under the age of 8, or those children who are unable to swim one width of the pool , without the use of any flotation devices, must stay within the shallow end of the pool and must be accompanied by a person 12 years of age or older while at the pool.

12.

A child must be 8 years old, and be able to swim a length of the pool in order to attend the pool area without an adult or child care provider. 

13.

No balls or rafts are allowed in the pool when there are more than 15 people in the pool.

14.

Any child using an approved flotation device must be supervised by a responsible adult.  The pool staff has the right to disallow any flotation device deemed unsafe.

15.

Street shoes are not allowed to be worn on the pool deck at any time. 

16.

No running, fighting, or horseplay in the pool area.

17.

Pushing or throwing persons from the pool edge is strictly prohibited.

18. 

No radios, smoking, food or gum allowed in pool area.

19. 

No breakable containers or sharp metal objects that might be hazardous may be brought into the pool area.

20. Anyone using the diving boards must be able to swim 25 meters or 2 widths of the pool freestyle.  The pool manager or lifeguard will determine the strength of the swimmer.
21. Only one person is allowed on board or standards at a time.  Double bouncing, passing, hanging, hand standing or springing from a sitting position is forbidden.
22.  No jumping or diving from the sides of the driving boards.
23. Each diver must observe that his/her diving area is clear before he begins his/her approach and, after surfacing, must swim immediately out of the area.
24. Adult Swim is limited to persons 18 years of age or older.
25. The pool will close at the sound of the lighting warning siren, and all present should seek shelter immediately until the all-clear siren has sounded.
26. No food or drink other than what has been purchased at the club is allowed anywhere in the pool area.
27. The pool and snack bar will close early due to lack of business, upon the approval of the Clubhouse Manager.
28. When Swim Meets are held at the Club, the pool will close. These dates will be advertised in out Club mailings and posted on the Club bulletin boards
29. The Club assumes no responsibility for the personal property of those using the pool facility. Anyone entering the pool does so at his or her own risk.
30. Special pool parties must be approved by the Clubhouse Manager. Any suggestions regarding pool operations or rules shall be made in writing through the Sports and Pastimes Committee.
31. Swimmers shall abide by all further pool regulations posted in the pool house.
